Katie calls her style Fractured: broken down into basic geometric shapes which are broken again to produce a vibration of color and line that mimic movement. Her paintings are bold depictions of life created with classic oil techniques. Graphic design and tattoo artist background inspire a contemporary style. She paints because of the meditative mental state it produces. Katie believes that, because we all love beautiful things, the ability to create them with one’s hands, heads, and hearts is a gift. Sharing the product of one’s efforts connects everyone and broadens their ability to perceive beauty.
